Do you ever dream of moving to a completely different province in Canada?

While I would certainly miss the great “PNW” as we affectionally call it (the beautiful mountains, ocean, rivers, temperate weather year-round, endless outdoor activities, and collection of a diverse group of cultures) the real estate markets in other parts of Canada have a lot to offer for $500,000!

With a population of nearly 20,000, White Rock is a bustling small community in the SW corner of the Lower Mainland. It is a member municipality of Metro Vancouver. The moderate climate has made it a haven for retirees who enjoy an average summer temperature of 23 degrees Celsius and an average winter temperature of 6 degrees Celsius.

Named for a large white 485-ton granite boulder that probably arrived on the beach through glacial movements millions of years ago, White Rock is also part of the Coast Salish people’s narrative.

When your income doesn’t seem to keep up with your expenses you soon run into troubles keeping up with paying bills and making ends meet. But what happens when the housing market prices far exceed our income levels?

I came across an article this morning that claims Vancouverites are too poor to afford BC real estate within Vancouver. Furthermore the writer claims that “it’s astonishing we even try.”
